Belonging to the government is COMMUNISM! And this is shocking, since we all know what slavery is and what Nazism is all about. If the majority believe this, we are doomed!
That is a very unfortunate choice of words, but I have to say that both parties seem to be practicing this principle right now. While it is the Republicans who are most insistent on invading the personal lives of citizens, the Democrats had the opportunity but did nothing to restore civil rights that had been eroded over the previous decade. It would have made more sense to say "We all ARE the government." Or at least that was the idea we were taught (erroneously) in school. It has never really been practiced in the U.S., remembering that in the original Constitution only land owning free men (whites) were allowed to vote. Finding ways to de facto enslave people without losing majority support has been the modus operandi since the beginning. RSO's are just the latest manifestation of this. The swatika is an inflammatory symbol, but the parallels between the U.S. in the 21st century and Germany running up to 1932 are pretty powerful. It remains to be seen if enough people are going to wake up.
